My husband and daughter’s family gave me the most wonderful birthday cruise on Lake Jocassee. Our naturalist, Sheryl outdid herself as we listened to the history of this beautiful lake. We saw migratory Common Loons, gorgeous waterfalls, cascades and native plants. We even got to come up close and personal to the Oconee Bells rare wildflower that only blooms in this escarpment. This will definitely be a repeat adventure for us.
Excellent! Lovely views all around lake Jocassee. The colors were beautiful when we were there but will probably just get better over the next couple weeks. Debra was a great captain. She was fun and shared lots of great information about the lake and the history around the lake. We will remember this trip fondly.
This was the highlight of our vacation! Rocky was an amazing guide, perfect for a boatful of science lovers! We saw waterfalls you can only see from the lake, learned about the history of the area, got to swim under a waterfall, and watched a brave young man do some cliff diving!
Highly recommended going to Lake Jocassee and going on a tour! If you decide to go on a tour definitely ask for Zach Maddox because he was an awesome captain for our trip. We were able to see a few waterfalls, swim, and walk the small suspension bridge. I recommend you bring your water shoes if you want to walk around but they are not required.
We had an AMAZING 3-hour tour today with our tour guide, Matt, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He is a young man who clearly has a very bright future ahead of him for sure. He was so knowledgeable about the lake and told us tons of great information and interesting things about the lake, got us to some fabulous spots for swimming and jumping off the rocks, seeing waterfalls and more. You could tell he genuinely loved being there too! He was not only amazing for us as adults, but he was also phenomenal with our kids (ages 12 and 7). He went above and beyond to give us a great tour of the beautiful sights and experiences to be had at the lake. We even got to see a bald eagle! The boat was great, and all of the people we encountered at this touring company were amazing really. From the gentleman that greeted us at the parking lot to the shuttle driver to the greeter at the dock - all efficient, friendly, and professional. Also Tim was who I booked with over the phone and he was so friendly and helpful! He gave me the first inkling of the great time we were in for, and then everyone we met today followed suit with amazing service. We cannot say enough good things about this company and we plan to return soon for another tour. We did the afternoon tour, but they also have a morning tour, sunset tour, and full moon tour.
This lake is the most beautiful one in the Carolinas we’ve ever seen for sure. The water is clear to where you can see your feet - a beautiful emerald green (similar to Pensacola Beach for anyone who knows it) - but freshwater. The waterfalls were stunning, and the rocks and trails were so fun! Just be careful because many of the rocks are slippery when you go in the trail areas.
Kids and adults alike will LOVE going on a tour with Jocassee Lake Tours. The gorgeous lake is surrounded by equally gorgeous mountains, and with this company serving you, you can’t go wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all ages!! Don’t forget to tip your shuttle drivers and your guide well!! They deserve it for such excellent service!!
Thank you to all that helped us have an awesome day on the lake today, especially our tour guide, Matt! Can’t wait to go back!!

We had our Mom/daughter trip and did the Sunday afternoon tour. Enjoyed our guide David and loved the waterfalls. Scenery was beautiful. Everyone in our group was great! Recommend to read all info in your email (which I didn't do) which lead to us being in a tizzy getting to parking area in time. But we made it 👏 …
Jennifer was our tour guide for this exceptional tour of Jocassee. Her knowledge, kindness and spirit of adventure was such a blessing as we were celebrating a birthday in our group. She made the birthday girls day perfect!
There is so much history in this Lake and not taking this tour would be unfair to yourself. So if you are visiting the Upstate of SC be sure to set aside the 4 hours to enjoy a gem in our area.
Wonderful tour! They answered all questions and showed us many waterfalls. They even offered a chance to swim for anyone who wanted to brave the cold water.
